Uganda Pearl Project

"Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16

We have been invited by The Honorable Molly Lanyero (member of Parliament) to come to Uganda to teach the Acholi women of Lamwo how to make soaps and candles.
Molly wants to “teach her people how to fish” instead of simply “giving them a fish”. These are women who have lived in refugee tents for most of their lives and therefore have been solely dependent upon the government for their basic needs. We will be teaching these beautiful women life-sustaining skills so that they can provide an income for their family as well as provide basic needs such as food / medical care / schooling for their children. We will teach them how to own & operate a business within their marketplace.
Our Partnership
Gypsy Spring will donate a portion from each item sold to Actions Speak Louder to help fund the Ugandan Pearl Project.
The purpose of this project focuses on teaching sustainable solutions to the women in Uganda. By teaching life-sustaining and income-generating skills, the Ugandan Pearl Project works to create a financially indepen- dent future for the women of Uganda and their families, restoring dignity and hope.
